TYPE OF THREAD USED TO SEW ORI LEATHER BAGS

When sewing genuine leather, of course you will need threads that are stronger and more durable because the thickness of genuine leather is different from the fabric. So it is very necessary to decide what kind of thread to use when sewing leather, but the thread will also depend on the size, color, material and sewing method.

Type of thread used for sewing leather

When sewing leather, for example, you want to make a leather branded men’s briefcase, of course you want a strong thread that can hold the leather together. There are two popular threads that can be used when working on leather, namely, Bonded Nylon and Polyester.

Nylon, this yarn is very popular because of its relatively cheap price. This thread is also easy to use and very strong.

Polyester thread looks and feels the same as nylon thread, but polyester thread is more durable because it is resistant to UV rays and mildew.

Both of these threads have 2 variants, namely wax and non-waxed. If you use a sewing machine when sewing, you should avoid waxed threads because they can clog and jam the machine.

Yarn with wax is stiffer, the goal is to avoid stretching, is more water-resistant, resists rot and will stay intact longer for sewing leather products.

TYPES OF THREAD THAT CAN BE USED TO SEW GENUINE LEATHER BAGS

Many questions may arise about what kind of thread is used in sewing or combining patterns using genuine cowhide so that it becomes stronger and neater. Another question that will arise will also ask, is the thread used the same as the thread used to sew clothes or shoes?

When sewing genuine leather, of course, the thread used will also be different from the thread used to sew the fabric. The threads used to combine pattern after pattern in leather bags need to be durable and long lasting, so that the end result will also have a long lasting durability. Therefore, it is obligatory for the craftsman to decide on a different type of yarn, because of the thickness of the type of material as well. However, the yarn also depends on the material, size and color of the yarn itself as well.

Types of Threads Used To Sew Genuine Leather Bags

When you want to sew a briefcase that can carry a laptop (briefcase) made of genuine cowhide, of course you want a strong thread to unite pattern after pattern from the bag. Actually, in the world of leather craft there are two popular types of threads that are often used in combining leather patterns, namely Bonded Nylon and Polyester.

Bonded Nylon or Nylon thread is very widely used and also dominates in leather craft work. Nylon is widely used because this type of yarn is relatively inexpensive and has durability and durability that is quite strong and easy to use.

Meanwhile, this polyester thread is almost like nylon thread, however, it has higher durability because it has resistance to UV rays and mildew. However, it does have a price difference with nylon thread.

Both of these yarns have the same two variants, namely, waxed and non-waxed threads. Both can be used in sewing or combining leather materials. In the process, if you combine or sew using a machine, it is better to avoid threads with wax variants, and it is better to choose non-waxed ones, because if you use waxed variants, the wax layer contained in the threads will clog and make the sewing machine jam.

Yarn with the wax variant, is indeed made more rigid, with a small stretching force so as to reduce the tensile strength so that it is more durable, rot-resistant and also resistant to water

Yarn Colour and Size

In choosing the size of the thread, it must be adjusted to the thickness of the leather it self, and according to what will be made, for example a leather bag for traveling.

Yarn measurements will vary, for example using Nylon or Polyester threads. But most threads are measured in millimeters it will be useful to focus on the converted numbers.

Recommendations for making small products from genuine cowhide such as passport wallets from genuine cowhide, key chains from cowhide, or small sling bags from genuine cowhide can use sizes 46 – 138. These sizes are also very safe if used with a sewing machine and can pass through without any problems.

Medium weight leather is recommended to use sizes 138-554. For items such as belts, suitcases, genuine cowhide backpacks. Even with this size, you have to use a sewing machine with a commercial style.

And for heavy leather sizes, you can use a size 207 and even more, this type of heavy leather is usually used in making booth shoes, or horse saddles. This size also cannot use a sewing machine.

Yarn Color and Shape

In choosing the color and shape of the yarn will usually depend on what will be produced. If you don’t understand the color and shape of the yarn used, the resulting product will be less aligned and less attractive. Therefore, an engineer must understand very well the match between the color and the type of yarn that will be used in a production project.

If we use white thread in the production of dark blue or black leather wallets, new motifs will emerge in the final result. Likewise, if you choose dark brown thread on blue leather, it will make the item seem “dirty”. This can help in choosing the color variations in leather products on how contrasting or not the color choices are.

Not only the color, but the shape in the yarn selection will also give a different impression or appearance, both flat threads and cable threads.

The flat thread is 8 mm and is round in shape while the 5 mm cable thread is like a regular sewing thread.

Jenis Benang Yang Digunakan Untuk Menjahit Tas Kulit Asli

Exotic stingray skin can be made with various leather accessories

What is stingray skin?

Stingray skin is also known as shagreen. Shagreen is an upper part of certain species of shark and stingray used in leather crafts and the latest models of leather handbags.

At this time, stingray skin is widely used to make leather passport wallets, watch straps, leather sling bags and many more. The skin of the stingray is the most abundant of the stingrays cultivated in Asia.

Stingray skin has a fibrous fleshy side made of collagen fibers, like normal skin, but therein lies its uniqueness.

On the surface of the stingray skin there are motifs such as small balls, sometimes these motifs are also commonly called pearls. There are motifs that are larger in the middle of the skin and some are smaller on the outer edge.

Each small ball on the surface of a stingray’s skin is made up of a hard substance known as dentin. Dentin is the tougher outer layer of enamel. Dentin Very similar to teeth. Stingrays use these teeth as an outer shield and can also be called a defense system against attack. That is why the ball motif is only for the surface of the stingray skin around the vital organs.

During display, the soft fleshy outer wing is removed, usually used for consumption or the shagreen top layer is sent for tanning which will be used as material for the manufacture of elegant men’s leather bags and women’s leather wallets.

This is why the skin of a stingray is inconsistent or not the same as the shape of a stingray when it was alive.

most of the tanned stingray skins that favor this skin type will remain strong and flexible for the manufacture of branded leather handbags.

Finishing for shagreen skin

The skin is first left unsanded before interacting with certain colors. This gives the finished skin a caviar-like appearance.

Sanding is usually done after the staining process where it will sand the part of the machined surface that will show dentin that will not show. Then, after sanding is complete, if a more diverse color is needed, then the skin is.

What Are the Best Italian Leather Branded Bags?

Italian leather is well known as one of the best leather products in the world and is sought after on a global scale. Genuine cowhide leather products using Italian leather tend to cost a fortune, at least hundreds of dollars. This premium cowhide bag is quickly becoming the trend setter of every new handbag collection. Why is this Italian leather so in demand? Is Italian leather the best leather? here's the explanation..

Best Skin

Italian leather is better in terms of quality and durability when compared directly to similar leather types worldwide. Leather quality is determined by two main factors.

First, the quality of raw materials made from animal skins. This is where leather manufacturing begins and it is very important to choose high quality leather sheets that are ready to be used to make men's genuine leather bags and unisex women's leather bags. The better the animal is cared for, the better the skin it produces.

People in Italy are proud of the leather manufacturing heritage for the manufacture of italian leather cowhide bags, and therefore in Italy there are quite strict laws and policies to ensure that animals are cared for and treated properly than in most other leather-making countries.

The second factor is the tradition of making leather. They are inherited by generations from centuries ago, which is a strong advantage for Italians because of the knowledge they have gained to be able to produce higher quality leather. It can also be a good enough reason to buy exclusive company souvenirs made from Italian leather.

Therefore, combining these two main factors resulted in the high-quality leather that earned Italians the reputation they have today.

The History of Feet in Vegetable Leather Bags

Many units of measure have been defined and used throughout the world. One of them is the unit of feet or often referred to as Feet which is commonly used to measure genuine leather on Handmade leather bags. The foot measurement unit is also known as the British unit.

Why is it also called the British unit? Because in the past, this unit was originally introduced in the United Kingdom. And until this moment in the United Kingdom still using the unit of measure Feet. The unit of measure commonly used to measure genuine leather bags is not only in the United Kingdom but also in some of its colonies.

This unit of feet or Feet is said to have originated in ancient Sumer. Sumer was an ancient civilization in southern Mesopotania, in present-day southern Iraq, during the Chalcolitic and Early Bronze Ages.

Most people say that the size of 1 foot ( feet ) is the measure of a person’s steps, but that statement is not true. The truth is, 1 foot is the length of an adult’s foot. On a 30 cm ruler in general, there are units of inches. Well, 12 inches equals 1 foot.

A distance of 1 foot is about a third of a meter or 0.3048 m (30.48 cm) to be precise. 3 feet is equal to 1 yard. But different countries have different sizes, if in Indonesia a foot size of 12 inches is very large for the size of the sole of the foot. The unit of foot in international units is given the symbol ft. There is also a Square Feet unit, the square feet unit in Indonesia is 25 cm x 25 cm or 28 cm x 28 cm. This unit is also commonly used in the calculation of genuine leather on genuine leather bags made inIndonesia.

There are also various sources that say that the unit of foot measurement comes from the length of the feet of King Henry 1 he was a King of England. The sole of his foot was 12 inches long, and he hoped to standardize the unit of measurement in England. Although there is also a record and standardized evidence that the word “foot” already existed and was used about 70 years before the birth of King Henry 1.

Someone explained that it was unlikely that every king’s foot would forever be the modern unit of measurement. In his mind, explained that King Henry 1’s measured foot length, which was 12 inches, did not refer to one bare foot, but to measuring the length of the footwear he wore. And theoretically because in the past a king always used footwear, it could be added 1 inch or 2 inches from the length of a bare foot.

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT LEATHER GLOVES

Gloves are one of the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) which are useful for protecting hands from potential hazards when carrying out certain activities. These potential hazards can be in the form of heat, chemicals, sharp object scratches, germ infection, electric current, or also machine vibration.

The various functions of the gloves are in accordance with the type of gloves used. Because it is impossible for one glove to be used for various purposes/activities carried out. Here are some types of gloves that are commonly used with different materials

But this time we will discuss about gloves made of leather. As the name implies, my leather gloves are a type of gloves made of leather. Leather has unique properties and characteristics that make it useful for various purposes. Leather gloves too, in English ”english” also known as leather glove which means a type of leather (leather) that is light and soft.

At the sale, many customers ask about the leather material used. It’s very natural when they ask like that. the article, leather gloves available in the market is very diverse. These variants arise due to price, skin type, finishing process, color, abrasion resistance, flexibility (suppleness) and other performance factors.

Let’s take a peek at some of the animal skin materials used in making leather gloves, which are obtained from

1. Sheepskin (Sheepskin)

Sheepskin is considered as one of the best glove skins, especially goatskin from countries such as Ethiopia, Nigeria and South Africa. The main characteristic of sheepskin is its extremely fine and soft/flexible grain combined with its light weight and strong tensile/stretching strength.

Note: Sheepskin is half the thickness of cowhide and deerskin so it is very suitable for light sports such as golf that requires comfort.

2. Deerskin (Deerskin)

The softness of the deer skin is very good and also has a more capable durability, because the deer skin will remain smooth even when exposed to wet. It is these characteristics that make deer skin safe when used as “safety” gloves.

3. Cowhide (Cowhide)

Gloves made of cowhide provide a great combination of quality and

it is more affordable than sheep and deer leather, but still good in stretch/traction, softness/smoothness, and also durability.

Because the price is more competitive when compared to sheep and deer skin, gloves with cowhide are more common. Gloves made of cowhide are also widely used by connoisseurs of sports or outdoor activities, such as motorsports riders because their thickness ranges from 0.8-0.9 mm or 0.9-1.0 mm.

4. Goatskin (Goatskin)

Goatskin gloves are one of the most widely used leather gloves. The advantage of this material is that it is affordable but has leather characteristics that are more similar to sheep and deer skin, because it has the closest durability.

This glove with goatskin material does seem a little rougher than cowhide, and the grain layer is thinner than cowhide, the thickness is between 0.7-0.8mm and 0.8-0.9mm.

5. Faux Leather

Faux leather is cheaper than genuine leather. However, its characteristics in protecting workers are not as good as genuine leather.

HISTORY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF GENUINE COW LEATHER BAG

In fact these developments led to leather bags achieving a special position in the market. Leather bags Leather is perhaps one of the first longest-lasting human inventions in the field of protective materials. Leather was used by ancestors as early as 5000 BC to make footwear, clothing, and even raw tents. Evidence from archaeological bodies shows that ancient Egyptians used leather to make gloves, bottles, and even used it to make military equipment.

It was the Greeks who first discovered the process of tanning leather using tree bark and leaves. Scraps of evidence were found that they began using some kind of vegetable tanning during 500 BC. After the Greeks, the Romans started using leather on a very wide scale making many products that used it including shields, saddles, and harnesses.

It has developed very quickly to date, due to its durability and technological developments related to processing leather accessories into household goods. Vegetable leather is a product that is both a utility and a fashion product.

The Origin of Leather Bags

Early humans used to need tools to carry their babies from place to place, this may be the reason for the expansion of the use of skin into clothing itself. A historical example is a mummy named Otzi which was discovered in the 1990s from the Alps and is 3500 years old.

Along with the development of new methodologies in utilizing animal skins to form accessories for carrying tools, leather bags or classic leather bags were formed.

Development of Leather Bags

The early developed leather is hard and does not have a smooth texture. Clothing and seats made of leather are very uncomfortable. However, the advantages are long-lasting and some leather products available today are in excellent condition even after hundreds of years.

Following its development, nowadays people also need a bag to store their necessities. This causes leather to be widely used to make various types of bags, such as leather travel bags.

During the renaissance, many craftsmen produced men’s leather bags and women’s leather bags which were very fashionable and useful. Various special bags began to be designed like bags with many pockets inside.

The result of these developments were various experiments with leather bags. Many improvements occurred over several centuries that turned leather bags into luxury goods. Products made by craftsmen began to be sought after by rich people.

Leather Bags in this day and age

Now, the cost of leather bags has dropped a lot due to the development of technology. Today’s latest leather bags come in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes, and are much more durable than bags made of other materials such as cloth or plastic.

a good one is a sign of professionalism and social standing. They are much more protective than bags with other materials.
